Accessibility: The village of Bocska is located in the southern part of Zala county, along main road No. 74, between Nagykanizsa and Zalaegerszeg, some 14 km from Nagykanizsa.

Characteristics: The name of the village was first mentioned in written documents in 1459. In the 15th century the village was owned by the Csapi family. In the 17th century the area of the village is referred to as desolate. The re-population of the settlement was very slow. In the early 19th century the residents of the village were Roman Catholic Hungarians. In the 1920s there was a school, a shop, several craftsmen and a mill in Bocska.
The population of the village has been decreasing since the Second World War. Currently, the number of unemployed residents is 25. Many of the residents commute to work in Nagykanizsa, and there is a well-functioning co-operative. The village has an ice-cream parlor and six private entrepreneurs, there is a library and a church.
